Referee Kevin Wright will take charge of this weekend’s clash between MK Dons and Carlisle United.
The Cambridgeshire-born whistle-blower has been officiating in the Football League since 2003 and during his time he has umpired a total of eight Dons games – the first one coming in December 2004 when he oversaw the Dons’ 3-1 victory over Blackpool.
In total, Wright has shown 31 yellow cards and 1 red card in games involving the Dons with the solitary sending off going to Colchester United goalkeeper Aidan Davidson in the 1-1 draw back in August 2005. The Dons have won half of the games Wright has taken charge of, including his last one which came in January 2011, when Karl Robinson’s side saw off Tranmere Rovers 2-0.
This season, Wright has refereed 17 games and has booked 31 players while also giving two players their marching orders. In his last appointment, this past Tuesday evening, he was the man in the middle for Burnley’s goalless draw with Middlesbrough. Wright showed four yellow cards in the game but didn’t produce a red.
