Karl Robinson hands Izale McLeod a start against his former side Portsmouth but goalkeeper David Martin misses out through injury.
McLeod scored 11 times for Pompey during a six-month stay in Hampshire but will line up against them as the Dons’ lone striker this evening. Martin, who was forced off early in the draw to Carlisle United on Saturday, isn’t deemed fit to play meaning Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Ian McLoughlin will make his first Dons League start.
Elsewhere, Daniel Powell returns to the right-wing position after being forced to start on the bench last weekend because of a knock picked up in training while defender Gary MacKenzie is fit enough to take his place alongside Antony Kay at the back.
MacKenzie’s inclusion allows Shaun Williams to move alongside Darren Potter in the centre of midfield with the majestic Luke Chadwick playing just in front of him, in the ‘trequartista’ role. Ryan Harley continues on the left-hand side of an attacking three with Adam Chicksen once again at right-back.
Amongst the substitutes there is a place for youngster Giorgio Rasulo along with Ryan Lowe and Chris Lines, both of whom make way for McLeod and Powell respectively. Defender Tom Flanagan returns to the squad after missing out in Cumbria.
