Luke Chadwick is hoping to inspire the Dons to another memorable FA Cup with Budweiser victory this weekend, when they take on Barnsley at stadiummk.
The former Manchester United midfielder made his first start in over a month against Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night and it was like he’d never been away as he added the dash of creativity that has at times been lacking in recent weeks.
Chadwick missed the last three FA Cup ties because of the knee injury he sustained in mid-December and therefore is eager to play a part in this Saturday’s clash against the Reds and help Karl Robinson’s men book a place in the quarter-finals of the prestigious competition.
Speaking to MK Dons Player, the 32-year-old said: “It’s great to be back playing again. It’s disappointing anytime when you’re injured and not playing but it makes it even worse when the side’s not doing so well because you want to be out there helping your team-mates.
"It’s nice that we’ve got another game so soon. The Barnsley game is going to be massive for the Club and we owe it to the chairman, the manager and the supporters to put on a good performance and it’ll be an amazing achievement if we can get through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
“We’ll treat it like any other game, we’ll prepare as we always do and we’ll go out there and give the same sort of fight that we showed against Doncaster. Hopefully, then, with a bit more quality on a better pitch which we’ll have at our place, we can win.
“If we do that and get a good draw in the next round then who knows what might happen.”
