Indie rock band The Pigeon Detectives have signed up to take part in the crossbar challenge during the half-time interval of Saturday’s FA Cup clash against Barnsley.
The Yorkshire-based rockers will entertain supporters with a live performance of their latest single ‘Animal’ just prior to kick-off this weekend, as part of a ‘Battle of the Bands’ style initiative to find an official FA Cup anthem.
The five-piece band have enjoyed chart success in the past, with their debut album ‘Wait for Me’ reaching third in the UK Albums Chart in the summer of 2007. They have also performed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2006 and once again the following year.
The Pigeon Detectives will take the stadiummk pitch at 2.50pm just before the two teams come out to battle for a place in the quarter finals of the country’s most prestigious cup competition.
