MK Dons Under-18s starlet Dele Alli featured twice for England U-17s in their recent Algarve Tournament.
Alli, 16, linked up with the Three Lions last week ahead of the five-day event which is used as preparation for the European Championship qualifiers that take place next month.
An unused sub in the first match against Germany last Friday, Alli made his first appearance of the tournament on Sunday when he started against the hosts, Portugal. John Peacock’s side had taken the lead early on but two quick-fire second half goals saw the English youngsters slip to a 2-1 defeat.
The next and final match of the tournament took place on Tuesday with Alli once again named in the starting XI for the tough fixture with Holland. The talented midfielder was productive throughout but couldn’t prevent his side suffering a 1-0 loss.
Alli will now return to Milton Keynes to link back up with the Dons Under-18s and he will also be available to first team manager Karl Robinson for the FA Cup with Budweiser clash with Barnsley this Saturday.
*MK Dons Under-18s home game against Watford, originally scheduled to take place this Saturday morning at Woughton on the green, has been brought forward to Friday 15th with kick-off still at 11am.
