Karl Robinson is forced into making one change to his starting XI, with the experienced Alan Smith coming in to the side to replace the suspended Stephen Gleeson.

Gleeson, who has scored two goals in each of his last two games, picked up his fifth booking of the season on Thursday and will serve his one-match suspension today. Smith, therefore, starts alongside Darren Potter for the first time in the League since Opening Day.

Elsewhere, the Dons remain unchanged with both Shaun Williams and Patrick Bamford passed fit after limping out of the 2-0 victory over Crawley Town on Boxing Day.

Williams will continue in defence next to Jordan Spence, Dean Lewington and right-back Lee Hodson, who starts against his former Club while Patrick Bamford is the lone striker ahead of an attacking trio consisting of Samir Carruthers, Ben Reeves and Dale Jennings.

Among the substitutes this afternoon is youngster Dele Alli, who returns to the squad for the first time in four games after recovering from injury. The talented 17-year-old is joined by Ian McLoughlin, Tom Flanagan, Jason Banton, Antony Kay and Brendan Galloway.

Brentford: Button; Forshaw, Craig, Dean, Saunders, Douglas, Donaldson, McCormack, Saville, Bidwell, Trotta.

Subs: Lee (GK), O'Connor, El Alagui, Logan, Dallas, Fillo, Diagouraga.

MK Dons (4-2-3-1): Martin; Hodson, Spence, Williams, Lewington (c); Potter, Smith; Carruthers, Reeves, Jennings; Bamford.

Subs: McLoughlin (GK), Flanagan, Alli, Baldock, Galloway, Banton, Kay.
