Ref Watch: Brentford

28 December 2013

Andy D’Urso has been appointed the match referee for MK Dons’ trip to Brentford on Sunday.

The 50-year-old began refereeing in the Football League back in 1994 and spent many years at Premier League level. D’Urso has refereed 13 MK Dons games in total, of which they have won four, drawn two and lost seven.

The Essex-based referee has already taken charge of one Dons game so far this season; the 1-0 defeat to Carlisle United at stadiummk. The official booked both Darren Potter and the Blues’ Paul Thirlwell that evening.

So far in 2013/14 D’Urso has been the man in the middle for 17 matches, showing 52 yellow cards and 5 reds.

Most recently, he was in charge of the Boxing Day goalless draw between the Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City, where he showed two yellow cards and also sent off City’s Jesse Lingard.

The full list of officials for Sunday is as follows:
Referee: Andy D'Urso (Essex)
Assistant Referees: Jake Hillier (Hertfordshire) and Robert Hyde (London)
Fourth Official: Ian Crouch (Kent)
