Major badminton is set to take its place in the home of BADMINTON England in the New Year when the English National Badminton Championships arrives in MK for the first time.

The annual championships provide the opportunity for people to watch the best badminton players in the country fight it out for the chance to be crowned champion.
London 2012 Olympian and Commonwealth silver medallist Rajiv Ouseph will be bidding for his 7th consecutive National singles title, while married mixed doubles pair Chris and Gabby Adcock will be hoping to show why they are worthy of their top five world ranking.
For the past nine years the championships have been held in Manchester, but it was announced earlier this year that they would be moving to Milton Keynes in 2014.
Adrian Christy, Chief Executive of BADMINTON England, said: “We are really looking forward to the Nationals arriving in our home in Milton Keynes in February at the fantastic arena: stadiummk.
“It will add to the terrific sport already on offer in the city while strengthening our partnerships with Milton Keynes Council and MK Dons FC.
“Milton Keynes is a real hot bed for badminton and I hope that fans from within the city and elsewhere will come along to support the very best of English talent.”
