Goalkeeper David Martin hopes the side can take the confidence gained from their victory over Wolves, into Saturday’s clash with Port Vale.
MK Dons put an end to a run of three straight League defeats with a 2-0 win away at Molineux Stadium last weekend to climb back to within nine points of the playoff places, with a game in hand.
And Martin, who kept his second clean sheet in as many games against Wolves, believes the side should use the victory as a means to push on and regain their place in the top six.
Speaking to MK Dons Player, Martin said: “It was a great result for us last Saturday and even the clean sheet against Dover was pleasing.
“It was important to get back to winning ways because all the lads knew the run of results wasn’t good enough. We’ve had chats amongst ourselves and with the Gaffer and we’ve put a few wrongs right.
“We want to go into Saturday’s game full of confidence and do the same things we did last Saturday, getting back to what we’re good at. Hopefully, then, we’ll get the right result.
“We’ve put ourselves in a better position in the table with that result and we know we’ve got the ability to get back into the play offs but it’s up to us now, for the rest of the season.”
