MK Dons Ladies ended the calendar year in style on Sunday, with a 5-0 demolition of Brentwood Town.

Matt French’s side have now won their last four League games and currently occupy third place in the South East Combination League table heading into 2014.

It took just three minutes for the Dons to get on the scoresheet this Sunday; Leah Cudone grabbing her second goal in as many games with a fine strike.

15 minutes later, the Ladies doubled their advantage through winger Heather McDonnell (pictured) before Emily Mann saw a cheeky lob bounce just wide of the post after she had raced through one-on-one with the Brentwood goalkeeper.

Knowing another goal would all-but seal the victory, the Dons shot out of the traps at the start of the second half and they added that crucial third goal on 52 minutes courtesy of Mann, who wasn’t going to be denied a second time.

French’s side were in total control of the game and on the rare occasion Brentwood broke forward in the second half the home defense was resolute.

The Dons added a fourth goal late-on when substitute Eden Washington found the bottom corner with a fine strike and the scoring was complete in injury time when loanee Ellie Butterwick made it 5-0, in her final game before returning to parent club Watford.

With a confidence-boosting victory under the belts, the Ladies can enjoy the winter break and look forward to their exciting match-up with C&K Basildon on January 5th.
