Book raises over £600 for charity

3 December 2013

MK Dons fans Adam Faiers and Dan McCalla have raised more than £600 for Milton Keynes charities through sales of their epic cycling tale, Stadium Chase.

The paperback, which details Faiers’ 3000-mile trek to every MK Dons away game over the 2012/13 season, was written by the pair to generate more donations for the MK Dons Sport and Education Trust and the Redway School. Over the first two months of the book being on sale, 174 copies have been sold, raising approximately £620 to be shared equally between the two organisations.

Adam said: “The response we’ve had to people who have bought and read the book has been unbelievable – every single review we’ve had on Amazon has given us five stars. At every Dons game I go to now, people come up to me and tell me how cold they felt when they read about my two-day journey up to Carlisle.

"This extra money raised takes my total from the whole project close to £9000, and I’m staggered that I’ve been able to raise so much.”

Dan added: “I’m delighted that so many people have put their hands in their pockets to buy copies of Stadium Chase. It really does say a lot about the community bond between Dons fans, and it says even more about just how Adam captured the imagination of so many supporters. I’m hoping we can bring in some more sales now to try and get to £1000.”

Stadium Chase remains on sale, in paperback and Kindle formats, and is the ideal Christmas gift for any football or cycling fan. To find it, simply search Amazon.co.uk for ‘Stadium Chase’.
