George Baldock has spoken of his delight after he put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half year contract with MK Dons.
Baldock, a graduate of the Club’s academy, had spent time on loan at Tamworth and Northampton as well as Icelandic club IBV prior to this season but the youngster has worked hard to become a first-team regular at the Dons in 2013/14 and has already made 20 appearances so far this season.
Speaking to the media earlier this week, Baldock said: “I’m glad to be able to commit my future to MK Dons for the next two-and-a-half years; it’s a weight off my shoulders. I worked really hard in the summer so to be rewarded so early in the season is brilliant.
“Saturday was a really special day. My mum and dad were there and they got to sit with the Chairman in the Directors’ Box, which was a nice touch for them.
“The fans were brilliant too, like they always have been during my career at MK Dons. Hopefully that can continue and I can reward them with a few goals and more assists.”
The deal is the third professional deal signed by Baldock’s, after initially signing in 2011, but with his future secured until at least 2016, he will now be hoping to establish himself in the MK Dons starting XI in his next two-and-a-half years at the club.
