Ref Watch: Sheffield United

29 August 2013

David Webb will take charge of this Saturday’s clash between MK Dons and Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The Lancashire-based official, who has been refereeing in the Football League since 2008, will oversee only his third Dons game this weekend. His two previous appointments with the Dons came away at Huddersfield Town in 2010/11, where he brandished three yellow cards, and away at Doncaster Rovers last season, where he showed two.

Including his trip to Keepmoat Stadium with the Dons, Webb took charge of 34 games in 2012/13, booking 105 players and sending off six.

This season, Webb has refereed four fixtures and is yet to show a red card. Webb, however, has booked 12 players, three of which came in his last appointment – last night’s Capital One Cup tie between Accrington Stanley and Cardiff City

The full list of officials for Saturday’s game is as follows:
Referee: David Webb (Count Durham)
Assistant referees: Matthew Bristow (Manchester) and Darren Handley (Lancashire)
Fourth official: Ryan Johnson (Manchester)
