Ref Watch: Preston North End

14 August 2013

Mark Brown will take charge of MK Dons’ clash with Preston North End at Deepdale this weekend.

The East Yorkshire based official has only been refereeing in the Football League since 2010, overseeing just the one Dons game during that time.

Brown’s only appointment with the Dons was the 2-1 victory away at Rochdale in 2011, where he didn’t brandish a single card. Brown has taken charge of Preston North End on two occasions, showing seven yellow cards and one red card in games involving the Lilywhites.

This season, Brown has officiated two games -  Bury’s 3-2 win over Crewe Alexandra in the Capital One Cup and Hartlepool United’s 1-0 defeat to Southend United in League 2 last weekend. Brown has booked six players this season and has shown the red card to one – Southend United’s Barry Corr.

Saturday’s list of match officials is as follows:

Referee: Mark Brown (East Yorkshire)
Assistant referees: Simon Clayton (County Durham) and Tom Nield (West Yorkshire)
Fourth official: Anthony Blackhouse (Cumbria)
