Ref Watch: Crewe Alexandra

Rob Lewis has been handed the whistle for MK Dons’ home League 1 opener against Crewe Alexandra this weekend.

Veteran Lewis has been refereeing in the Football League for eight years and has taken charge of over 120 games during that time. Since his League debut in 2005, Lewis has officiated five Dons matches, handing out 25 yellow cards but no red cards.

Last season, Lewis took charge of 22 fixtures and booked 67 players but didn’t send off a single person in 2012/13.

Lewis’ has umpired two games so far this campaign, Southend United’s 1-0 win over Plymouth and Derby’s slender victory over Oldham on Tuesday night. Lewis has brandished seven yellow cards so far in 2013/14.
