Head of Sports Medicine Simon Crampton has confirmed Daniel Powell has suffered ankle ligament damage.
The winger was injured in training last week and missed both the Sky Bet League 1 opener at Shrewsbury and the Capital One Cup win over Northampton Town in midweek.
Simon told mkdons.com: “Unfortunately, Daniel sustained an injury to his ankle which has resulted in damage to the ligaments. Following an MRI investigation and a review with one of our London-based ankle specialists we have decided the best option to ensure the ligaments heal successfully is for Daniel to undergo a treatment rehabilitation period over the next two months.
"All being well, we should see him return to football at around the 10 week mark.”
