The Dons’ plans will ensure that the Bowl will comprise of three major elements:
• Firstly, that The Bowl will retain its position as an iconic UK music venue with enhancements to the facility that will serve both concerts and sporting uses.
• Secondly, an international standard Team Base Camp that will be used for the Rugby World Cup and other major sporting events that Milton Keynes will undoubtedly attract in the future thus delivering real legacy from the Rugby World Cup 2015; and,
• Lastly, a permanent training facility for MK Dons , which is vital to the Club’s progression because without it they cannot develop their Academy to ensure it competes for the best players.
So where do you come into it?
All feedback must be directed to Milton Keynes Council to be classed as official response to the consultation. MK Dons, though, also want to know what you think, so don’t forget to copy us in to your responses!
We want to know what you like about the plans, what you don’t like, what you think works well and where you think there is room for improvement.
Speaking to mkdons.com, Pete Winkelman said: “I want everyone to get involved here, at the end of the day this is a facility for the people of Milton Keynes. Lots of people have been to The Bowl for various
events, lots of people have been to the football. Let’s have a read of the alternatives, let’s try and give the Council some full consultation, they have asked for it and I would like to be fully-consulted because we could learn something too.
“I implore people to go onto the Council’s website, read the documents and complete the consultation response forms and send them to us as well because we want to hear what the people of Milton Keynes want there.
"This is an opportunity for us to go and do something really good. I don’t want it to be average, I don’t want it to be under-used, if we all work together again, just as we did with the stadium, and we can do something really great. I hope people can see my motivation is there to go and deliver something. I want a long-term legacy from the Rugby World Cup and that can come from The Bowl.”
