MK Dons have been drawn at home to Northampton Town in Round 1 of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The regionalised draw for the competition took place live on Soccer AM this morning with presenters Max Rushden and Helen Chamberlain pairing the two clubs together in the South East section.
The two sides met only two weeks ago at Sixfields Stadium in the Capital One Cup, on that night it was Karl Robinson's men who were victorious. Last season, however, the Cobblers knocked the Dons out of the JPT at Round 1 thanks to a Jake Robinson wonder goal.
The Dons won the JPT in 2008 when they beat Grimsby Town at Wembley, since then their Southern Area final defeat to Southampton in 2010 was the closest the men from MK1 have come to a return to the showcase finale.
The tie will take place the week commencing 2nd September. Confirmation of the date, kick-off and tickets will be announced on mkdons.com in due course.
