Ref Watch: Colchester United

Wiltshire-based referee Roger East will take charge of the Dons’ clash with Colchester United this Tuesday evening.

East, who has been officiating in the Football League since 2006, has overseen a total of 10 games involving the men from MK1 and has shown 45 yellow cards and two red cards.  Both the sending’s came in the 2010/11 season when Angelo Balanta was given his marching orders away at AFC Bournemouth shortly before Sean O’Hanlon suffered the same fate against Bristol Rovers.

This campaign, East has enjoyed the step up to the Premier League having taken charge of five top division fixtures, his first being a 2-2 draw between Swansea City and Sunderland in which East dismissed Swan’s defender Chico.

East has officiated 41 games this year, booking 131 players and sending off 6 in the process. East’s last appointment came this past weekend when he umpired the goalless draw between Southend United and Bristol Rovers.
