Giorgio Rasulo and England Under-16s finished as runners-up in the Montaigu Tournament after they were beaten 4-2 on penalties by Turkey.
Kenny Swain’s Young Lions made it through to Monday’s final having taken five points from their three group games, which included a 3-1 win over Chile and 1-1 draws with Holland and Germany.
Dons youngster Rasulo, who he netted a brace in the victory over Chile last Thursday, was named in the England starting XI for the final and helped them comeback from a goal down early on before being replaced at half-time.
The match, which ended 2-2 after 80 minutes, was to be decided by a penalty shoot-out, which England subsequently lost 4-2.
Rasulo will now return to stadiummk in time for his Under-18 fixture this weekend against Portsmouth.
