Leah Cudone’s first half strike helped MK Dons Ladies to a 1-0 victory over Ebbsfleet United on Sunday afternoon.
In the first of two successive games against United, Jon Dyer’s outfit made the journey down to Kent for their penultimate game of the season.
With duo Claire Hollingsworth and Tammy Scriven returning to the back four following respective injuries, the Dons made a solid start on a baking hot afternoon in Ebbsfleet and eventually took the lead just before the break courtesy of Cudone (pictured), who finished well after Emily Mann’s neat pass.
Ebbsfleet did provide more of a test in the second half but the Dons defence stood firm as they saw out a well-earned victory, much to the delight of their manager Dyer.
He told mkdons.com: “I am proud of all today’s squad after another battling, hard-fought result.”
