Midfielder George Baldock was one of only four Dons players that started for their loan clubs on Saturday.
After joining Tamworth FC on loan on deadline day, George was thrown straight into the starting XI for the Lambs’ fixture with Mansfield Town last Tuesday and continued in midfield on the weekend when Marcus Law’s side were defeated 3-1 by Barrow.
The 19-year-old put in a skilful performance and helped to create chances for the Blue Square Premier side, who fell to 13th in the table.
Fellow Academy graduates Charlie Collins and Jordan Ivey-Ward were on the bench for Tamworth with both players coming on in the 64th and 82nd minute respectively. Ivey-Ward had a chance to grab a late consolation for the Staffordshire outfit, but his effort sailed wide.
Meanwhile, defender Tom Flanagan made his sixth appearance for the Gills in their 3-1 victory over Barnet at Underhill.
Coming on in place of the injured Matt Fish in the 84th minute, Flanagan helped to secure the win for Martin Allen’s team who remain at the top of League Two, one point clear of Burton in second.
All four players are expected to be in action this weekend when Gillingham host Bristol Rovers and Tamworth FC travel to Gateshead.
