Jabo Ibehre has today completed a loan move to League 1 side Colchester United until late December.
The U’s announced Joe Dunne as the new boss at the Weston Holmes Community Stadium this morning and he has acted quickly to recruit Ibehre as the newest addition to the Essex club.
Ibehre’s chances have been limited this season and manager Karl Robinson felt it best to allow the 29-year-old to link up with the U’s on a 93-day loan, which will run until 27th December.
The Islington-born forward has signed in time to be involved in the U’s fixture with Hartlepool United this weekend. During his stay with Colchester, Ibehre will be available for 15 League games which include difficult trips to Swindon and Yeovil and will end with a home tie with Brentford on Boxing Day.
This will be Ibehre’s third loan spell away from the Club after spending time with both Southend United and Stockport County in the 2009/10 season, where the powerful front man returned in fine form from the latter having scored five times in 20 appearances.
Robinson and his team travel to Colchester United to face Dunne’s side on Saturday 24th November, however Ibehre will not be eligible to play in that game.
