The three loanees who featured for their clubs this weekend were all on the winning side including Tom Flanagan’s Gillingham, who extended their lead at the top of League Two to seven points.
Flanagan, Jabo Ibehre and Jordan Ivey-Ward all helped their teams pick up three points on Saturday afternoon with all three times keeping a clean-sheet as well.
20-year-old Flanagan played 90 minutes during the Gills’ comfortable 4-0 victory over Aldershot Town and did well to make a goal-saving block mid-way through second half.
Ibehre’s Colchester United earned a surprise 1-0 victory over Stevenage, with the MK Dons man setting up Sanchez Watt for the game’s only goal early in the second period.
The Islington-born striker played the whole game for the Essex club, glancing a header wide before being booked late on for a foul on Filipe Morais.
Forward Ivey-Ward played a part in Histon’s 2-0 triumph over Vauxhall Motors in the Blue Square North before being substituted for Saul Otobo.
Elsewhere, Charlie Collins was an unused sub for Tamworth in their 2-1 defeat to Hyde while midfielder George Baldock missed out for the Lambs due to suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season during the week.
