Four loanees were in action on Tuesday night including Jordan Ivey-Ward and Awadh Ahmed who made their debuts for Histon, the former capping it off with a goal.
Ivey-Ward and Ahmed joined the Blue Square North side hours before kick-off but both played a part in the Cambridgeshire side’s 2-1 loss to League leaders Brackley Town.
Ivey-Ward, who signed a professional deal with the Dons in the summer, started for the Stutes and found the net in the 22nd minute after heading home a Sol Atubu cross.
Ahmed made an appearance from the bench in the 57th minute but couldn’t prevent his side from slipping to their fourth loss on the bounce.
Elsewhere Jabo Ibehre, off the back of his impressive performance on the weekend, helped Colchester United to a surprise victory over Swindon Town at the County Ground which sees the U’s climb to 17th with their second successive victory.
Ibehre, who scored twice on his first appearance for the Essex club and picked up the Man of the Match award, started the game and played 80 minutes before being replaced by former-Dons loanee Clinton Morrison.
Finally, Tom Flanagan played the whole game as Gillingham returned to winning ways against Northampton Town, with their 2-1 victory seeing them stay at the top of League Two.
