Loanees Jabo Ibehre and Tom Flanagan both found the net for their respective clubs this past weekend, while two others were in FA Cup action.
Ibehre netted his fourth goal for Colchester United in their 2-0 victory over Carlisle United, reacting quickest to a Sanchez Watt cross before firing into the roof of the net.
The 29-year-old forward saw two effort’s saved by Carlisle ‘keeper Mark Gillespie and another shot fizz wide before being substituted in the 85th minute.
In League Two, Flanagan scored his first goal for Gillingham in a 4-1 mauling of Burton Albion, firing home a loose ball to open the deadlock for Martin Allen’s side.
Playing the full game, the Dons defender was also on hand to make an important block late on to maintain the three-goal cushion and to keep the Gills at the top of the table.
Elsewhere, Academy graduates George Baldock and Charlie Collins had a taste of the FA Cup when they represented Tamworth in their 2-0 defeat to Barrow.
Baldock, who played the full 90 minutes, had a low shot saved just before half-time before Collins entered the game from the bench late on, but neither two could prevent the Lambs from going out of the competition.
Finally, Awadh Ahmed was an unused sub for Histon in their 2-2 draw with Droylsden in the Blue Square North with Jordan Ivey-Ward missing out due to injury.
