MK Dons Ladies star Lil Stanton has joined Southern Premier League side Leicester City Women's FC, the Club can confirm.
Lil, a former MK Dons Ladies Young Player of the Season has been a rock in the heart of the Dons midfield and has been a consistent performer during her time in Milton Keynes.
The talented starlet was invited to an England U-19 camp back in August and is expected to be named in the squad for the next International camp which is due to be announced shortly.
Ladies Manager John Dyer had nothing but kind words to say about Lil and wished her the best of luck with the Leicestershire side.
Speaking to mkdons.com, he said: “Lil is an exceptional talent and everyone is sad to see her go. She was very much part of my plans for the future and our own push for higher level football.
“Saying that, when a team from a higher division comes in for young players such as Lil, I can completely understand her decision to go on and make a name for herself.
“I wish her the best of luck and we will hopefully see her in an International shirt in the future.
“The door will always be open to her to come back, however, if the move doesn’t work out.”
Lil’s departure and with a number of key players absent through injury, the Ladies have decided to open their doors to new female players to join their ranks and will be holding open training sessions on the first Tuesday of every month.
