Fancy having dinner with Karl Robinson, Ian Wright and the Mayor of Milton Keynes...?
The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr. Catriona Morris, is just over halfway through her busy Mayoral year the theme of which is Sports and Culture. Catriona also has a desire to establish a legacy of events for subsequent Mayors should they wish to carry them on in future years.
One of the central events in this approach will be the re-establishment of a Mayor’s Annual dinner and to kick things off Catriona has pulled together a stellar evening to celebrate the best of local talent on and off the field. Guests will be entertained by MK Dons manager Karl Robinson, the Poet Laureate, Mark Niel, Rare Productions Theatre Company and, making his debut, MK Dons first team coach and Arsenal legend Ian Wright. Ian will share some of his stories from across his career so a fun evening is assured!
Catriona said: “Having an opportunity to showcase local Milton Keynes talent as well as hearing from Karl and, of course, Ian Wright means that we are in for a great evening whilst also supporting a great cause – it’s a perfect match.”
She added: “Even if you do not support the Dons being at an event to hear from the great Ian Wright is value for money on its own.”
Karl Robinson said: “MK Dons and MK Sports and Education Trust are very grateful for the Mayor’s support , fund raising events like these not only give us the opportunity to come together and have a bit of fun, they also enable us make a difference to our community. I would urge everyone, whether MK Dons supporters or not, to come to the evening and make it a night to remember.’’
Catriona is a passionate sports fan, supporting MK Dons, MK Lightning, Mark Webber and Red Bull Racing, and the Australian Cricket team. Her enthusiasm for sport is one of the reasons why she selected the MK Dons Sports and Education Trust (MK Dons SET), based at the MK Dons Football Club, as her Mayor’s Charity for the year, monies from the dinner will be going towards this worthwhile cause.
The dinner takes place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Milton Keynes on Friday 9th November, 2012 in the Clydesdale Bank Ballroom. Doors open at 7.30pm and a delicious three course meal will be served at 8pm
