Preview: FA Youth Cup Second Round

16 November 2012

The magic of the cup returns to stadiummk this Saturday lunchtime when MK Dons Under-18s take on Stevenage Under-18s in the FA Youth Cup Second Round.

After comfortably seeing off Hereford United in the opening round, Mike Dove’s side will now take on their Hertfordshire counterparts at MK1, with kick-off scheduled for 12.30pm.

The Dons and Stevenage, who beat Luton Town to set up the clash, have met twice already this season with the boys from MK1 coming out on top in the most recent meeting - a 4-3 victory in the Football League Youth Alliance Cup back in October.

Dove’s team includes the likes of Mason Spence, Harry Hickford, Brendan Galloway, Giorgio Rasulo and Dele Alli who have all been involved with the first-team at some stage this season.

Alli, who scored on his first professional start for the Dons in Tuesday night’s FA Cup tie with Cambridge City, is looking forward to this weekend’s game and stressed how important the competition is to him and his team-mates.

He told mkdons.com: “We’re looking forward to the game against Stevenage. The FA Youth Cup is a big thing for us and everybody wants to do the best they can in the competition so we’re going to
do the best we can.”

Tickets for the West Stand only are priced at £3 for Adults and £1 for Under-16s and can be purchased from the MK Dons Box Office at thecentre:mk and stadiummk, or by calling 01908 622900.
