Loan round-up

20 December 2012

George Baldock was named Man of the Match for Tamworth on Wednesday night after netting twice in their 4-2 FA Trophy replay victory over Corby Town.

The Lambs made it through to the Last 16 of the competition after a six-goal thriller in Northamptonshire, with young Don Baldock scoring his second and third goals of the season either side of half-time.

The 19-year-old midfielder latched onto a pass from Tommy Wright and finished confidently from 12-yards to give Marcus Law’s side a two-goal advantage at the interval before squeezing the ball past Corby’s ‘keeper Paul Walker and into the near post to restore the same advantage in the 58th minute after the home side had pulled a goal back.

The Staffordshire outfit, who had Charlie Collins as an unused substitute during the match, will now continue their road to Wembley as they face Gainsborough Trinity in the next stage in the New Year.
