Four of the six loanees were in action for their respective clubs this weekend, however none of the quartet were involved in a victory.
Jabo Ibehre’s Colchester United slipped to their fourth straight defeat after falling to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the in-form AFC Bournemouth. The Islington-born forward saw a header saved during the second half before being shown a yellow card with five minutes left to play.
Elsewhere, winger Jay O’Shea couldn’t inspire Chesterfield to their second successive victory as they came from behind to earn a point against Burton Albion. O’Shea played 85 minutes for the Spireites and had a couple of efforts on goal, most notably a volley which crashed off the crossbar soon after half-time.
In Round 2 of the FA Trophy, 18-year-old George Baldock and Tamworth were forced into a replay with Corby Town after a 1-1 draw at The Lamb Ground. Baldock made his 13th appearance for the Blue Square Premier side during the clash and will be looking to add one more to that tally on Wednesday when the two sides meet again, to battle it out for a place in Round 3.
Finally, Jordan Ivey-Ward started and played 49 minutes in Histon FC’s 3-1 defeat to Colwyn Bay, a result which sees the Cambridgeshire outfit lie in 21st in the Blue Square North.
