Stephen Gleeson has today (Monday) undergone successful surgery on a fractured foot.
The Dons midfielder suffered a break to his fifth metatarsal in training just over a week ago.
Following a consultation with a specialist on Christmas Eve the Irishman was booked in for surgery on New Year’s Eve.
mkdons.com is delighted to report the surgery went according to plan and Gleeson will now spend time with the MK Dons medical staff to work on his rehabilitation.
Head of Sports Medicine Simon Crampton said: “Unfortunately, Stephen suffered a fracture to his fifth metatarsal, which was surgically fixed today. We are very pleased that everything went to plan but now the hard work starts for Stephen as he will now require a lengthy period of rehabilitation.
“We expect Stephen will be out for around 12 weeks, but we are hopeful he will be back in time to play a big part in our current campaign.”
