Coventry City team news

29 December 2012

Karl Robinson hands 16-year-old Dele Alli is first League start as the Dons take on Coventry City this afternoon.

Alli, who made his debut for the Dons in the FA Cup clash with Cambridge City back in November, will partner Darren Potter in the centre of midfield while Alan Smith also comes into the side as Robinson makes two changes.

Mathias Kouo-Doumbe and Angelo Balanta are the players that make way for Alli and Smith, causing another reshuffle in the positions as Shaun Williams drops back into defence alongside Antony Kay.

Smith will start in the ‘number 10’ role in-between Daniel Powell and Dean Bowditch with Ryan Lowe leading the line up front in search of his fifth goal in as many League games.

On the bench, there is a return for defender Gary MacKenzie who has been out for two months after undergoing surgery on a hip problem.
