First-year scholars Brendan Galloway and Dele Alli have today flown out with England for the upcoming Under 17 Nordic Tournament in Faroe Islands.
Having been selected back in June by Head Coach Kenny Swain, both Brendan and Dele will link up with their fellow teammates before their first group match against the host country on 6th August.
England Under 17s have been drawn in Group A alongside Finland and Norway after their opening match with Faroe Islands. The tournament will last five days and will see the team play four matches including one against opposition from Group B.
Excluding the two Dons youngsters and Shrewsbury ‘keeper Callum Burton, the squad is mostly made-up of players from Premier League and Championship clubs.
And this is something that Director of Youth Football Mike Dove is delighted to see.
He told mkdons.com: “I’m very proud of both Dele and Brendan on being selected for England.
“They have had a really exciting start to their apprenticeships. They had a great week with us before flying out to Dublin with the first-team where they both featured in games and now they’re flying out for the Nordic Tournament.”
“Everyone at the Club wishes them well and we’re all excited to see how they get on.”
