Although the Dons are busy in League 1 action this week, don’t forget that the Capital One Cup Second Round tie with Blackburn is just around the corner.
On Tuesday 28th August Karl Robinson goes head to head with his former employers and will be looking to cause a similar upset to the one they pulled off last year when they beat Norwich City 4-0.
The Dons made it to the second round after a penalty shoot-out victory over Cheltenham Town on the opening weekend after Dean Bowditch’s first-half strike was cancelled out by Town’s Kaid Mohammed.
Blackburn Rovers, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, will be looking to start their season off well and Steve Kean and his team will want to make sure they avoid an upset early on in their campaign.
Rovers managed to keep hold of some of their key players from last season, including goalkeeper Paul Robinson and midfielder David Dunn. Summer signings for the Lancashire club include European Championship runner-up Nuno Gomes and ex-Fulham and Liverpool man Danny Murphy.
Tickets are available for only £12 for Adults, £8 for Seniors and Under 21s (which must be bought in advance of matchday) and £1 for Under 18s.
Supporters can upgrade to East Premium for only £3 or clubRed for an £8 premium. Season ticket holders have until 5pm on Thursday 22nd August to reserve their seats.
Please note that the Corner will be closed for this game.
