Defender Tom Flanagan made his competitive debut for Gillingham last night in their 2-1 victory over Championship side Bristol City booking their place in Round 2 of the Capital One Cup.
Playing 90 minutes at the heart of the Gills defence Flanagan played a vital role in Marin Allen’s side’s second goal, heading goalwards a Charlie Allen corner which was forced home on the line by Ben Strevens.
19-year-old George Baldock, who extended his loan with Icelandic side IBV until August 31st earlier this week, played 64 minutes for his club in their 4-0 victory over Fylkir which leaves them in third place only six points off top spot.
Finally, Charlie Collins and Jordan Ivey-Ward were both unused subs for Tamworth in their Blue Square Premier fixtures against Dartford and Hereford United.
The duo completed a successful trial period last week and have joined the Blue Square Premier side on a six-month loan deal. They will both be pushing to make an appearance on Saturday when the Lambs take on Stockport County.
