With the 2012/13 npower League 1 season on the horizon, MK Dons fans will be treated to an early taste of silverware on Tuesday as the League 1 trophy is set to be paraded at thecentre:mk.
The Dons have been touted by the bookies as one of the favourites for promotion this season and that is certainly the ambition of Karl Robinson and the players after falling short in the play-offs in two consecutive seasons.
As excitement levels rise for the start of the new League season, which sees the Dons play host to Oldham Athletic this Saturday, the npower League 1 trophy will be at Middleton Hall from 2pm on Tuesday.
Joining the trophy in Milton Keynes will be manager Karl Robinson and strikers Dean Bowditch and Charlie MacDonald, who will be on hand for pictures with fans and the trophy as title sponsors npower look to get the city talking ahead of the 2012/13 campaign.
On top of that, for one day only the MK Dons stall, situated on Silbury Arcade between TK Maxx and Burger King, will be the only place you can pick up a 2011/12 replica red away shirt, in youth and adult sizes, for £10. All ISC training t-shirts and polo shirts will also be available for £7.50.
Emma Collins, Head of Sponsorship at npower said: “The Olympics and Euro 2012 might have helped pass the time, but there’s no beating domestic football and we can’t wait for what will undoubtedly be another rollercoaster year in the Football League.
“We’re always keen to give the fans something to get excited about and what better way than to get the trophies around the country and into the hands of fans? I know Milton Keynes have had a busy summer and have big ambitions this year, so I’m sure they’ll be hoping that this isn’t the only time the trophy is in town this season!”
The trophy will be at thecentre:mk's Middleton Hall from 2pm-4pm. Fans of all ages are invited to come down where there will be opportunities to meet the players and get some pictures with the trophy.
