Ryan Harley made his return to action while Mathieu Baudry and Osman Sow got more minutes under their belts in MK Dons’ Central League clash with Peterborough United.

Harley, who has been sidelined since August, played 45 minutes in the Under-23s fixture in Cambridgeshire while Baudry and Sow played into the second half, as the pair continue to work their way back to full fitness.

The game itself finished in a 2-2 draw with Sow on the scoresheet for the Dons along with midfielder Lawson D’Ath.

Elsewhere, the likes of Stuart Moore, Mitch Hancox, Ryan Watson, Ousseynou Cisse and Robbie Simpson all earned minutes.

It was the home side who started brightest and could have taken the lead seconds into the clash, but for some crucial defending from Oran Jackson. 

Moore was then called into action with seven minutes as he denied George Cooper from close range.

From the resulting corner, Cooper was on hand to prod home from close range and hand Peterborough the lead. 1-0.

The first significant change of the game for MK Dons came 10-minutes into the tie, Robbie Simpson’s glancing header ended wide of the far-post after good work out wide from Hancox.

Sow and D’Ath then combined well, only for the latter to be denied a shot on goal by the offside flag.

Sow then had appeals for a penalty turned away after he felt he was fouled inside the box – the appeals were waved away. 

Matthew Stevens almost found the second of the game for the home side, however, Moore was on hand to deny him at his front post.

Shortly after, Cisse saw his goal-bound strike saved by Chapman.

Harley and Sow combined well on the half-hour mark with the former playing a clever reverse pass into the path of the striker. He turned, losing his marker in the process, but couldn’t beat Chapman.

After an impressive 45-minute showing, Harley was replaced by Dylan Asonganyi at the break. 

Robbie Simpson almost drew Dons level immediately after the break as he headed wide from Watson’s corner. 

Rubio’s side didn’t have to wait much longer for a goal though, as Sow struck just two minutes into the second half.

Having been fouled, the Swede picked himself up and stood over the resulting free-kick. His effort, from all of 30-yards, found a way past the Posh keeper and into the back of the net. 1-1. 

Peterborough once again took the lead on the hour mark, Isaac Buckley-Ricketts was in the right place, at the right time, to slot past Moore and restore Posh’s advantage. 2-1. 

Baudry’s driving run results in a floated cross towards Simpson, he couldn’t direct his header towards goal.

Both Sow and Baudry then saw their involvements come to an end – both of which were impressive throughout.

With five minutes remaining, Watson had the chance to equalise with a free-kick just outside the box. He was unable to get the desired flight path, his effort ended over the bar. 

It was D’Ath who ultimately earned a point for the Under-23s, he found himself with space on the edge of the box, before curling into the top corner with just two minutes left to play. 2-2.

The Dons almost won the clash with the last kick off the game, but Asonganyi fired narrowly wide.
