MK Dons Under-18s secured their first victory of the 2023/24 season, courtesy of a 1-0 success over Stevenage on the road.
Tommy Blennerhassett’s decisive strike in the 79 minute separated the two sides within the most-recent EFL Youth Alliance League fixture, which saw John Bitting’s boys emerge victorious and claim their first three points of the season.
Despite a difficult start to the current campaign, which has seen back-to-back league losses and elimination from the League Cup, the young Dons bounced back with success over Stevenage.
A familiar opponent the team faced last season, but oppositely to their previous meeting in the 2022/23 year, MK Dons came out on top.
MK Dons Lead PDP Head Coach shared his thoughts on the recent triumph “Throughout the entire week, the team have been spot-on.
“I believe the boys deserved the win they produced today against a strong Stevenage side. Oppositely to last week, everyone completed their jobs today. As a group they were excellent, including the players coming off the bench.
“I’m really pleased with them today. It’s a starting point and it’s a good way of getting our season up and running with this win because it has been tough for the lads.
“It was a really good collective performance today, but the biggest thing now is how we take this into the next game and further.”
