MK Dons Women see back-to-back league success following their recent 3-0 victory over London Bees at The Hive Stadium.
Charlie Bill’s Women prepared for their first game on the road after they collected the first three points of the season against Chatham Town just three day prior.
The Stadium MK victory provided a great boost of momentum for the team, who are yet to go unbeaten throughout both FAWNL League and FAWNL League Cup competitions.
FIRST-HALF
Within the opening ten minutes of the match, MK Dons Women grabbed the lead through Megan Attenborough. The midfielder had set her sights at goal from distance, and although from a long way out, her strike couldn’t be met by the home side’s shot-stopper. 0-1
It didn’t take long for Dons Women to double their lead as shortly after on the 26-minute mark Laura Mitchell claimed her third goal of the campaign so far. Mitchell’s effort rewarded her with three consecutive goals scored within the opening three league fixtures. 0-2
MK Dons Women led by two as the teams entered the break but work still had to be completed within the second-half of action to maintain their winning status.
SECOND-HALF
11 Minutes following the restart, Amy McLean saw her second of the season in all competitions. The number 21 received the ball on the edge of the area before she crafted an elegant move to pass by three Bee’s defenders.
McLean then remained composed as her skill offered the chance at goal, which was taken brilliantly by the forward who placed the ball past the oncoming goalkeeper. 0-3
A ruthless display from the travelling team saw them increase their advantage to three with just 30 minutes left to play.
Not only did the team show great attacking prowess, but the defensive effort from the squad rewarded them with their third clean sheet of the season as the score-line remained unchanged at the full-time whistle.
Another positive result for Charlie Bill’s Women, who returned from their first away game with all three points.
