MK Dons Women were beaten 2-1 by Gillingham at Stadium MK as their search for a first win of the season goes on.
Gillingham took the lead 24 minutes in but the Dons were soon level through Trisha Gould, who pounced quickly after Jade Bell’s initial effort was spilled by the goalkeeper.
Chez Albert went agonisingly close to a terrific solo goal early in the second, however her effort grazed the crossbar on its way over. Six minutes later, the Gills went back in front.
Marianne Taho had a shot saved on the line by the goalkeeper as the Dons pushed for a second equaliser. Kerry Newman also went close with an effort that crashed against the woodwork but that’s the closest Charlie Bill’s side came to salvaging a point.
