MK Dons Women were edged out 1-0 by promotion-chasing Southampton despite a battling performance at Weston Park.

Charlie Bill’s side, who went into the game on the back of successive victories, were more than a match for their opponents but were undone with 20 minutes to play courtesy of a goal from Ella Pusey.

The Dons remain four points adrift of safety in the FAWPL Southern Premier Division table but can take plenty of confidence from their performance ahead of another tough trip to Bridgwater United next weekend.
