Seven debutants set for pre-season opener

MK Dons Ladies kick-off summer schedule on Sunday...

1 July 2017

Manager James Honeyman is set to hand out seven debuts as MK Dons Ladies start their pre-season campaign at Dagenham & Redbridge this weekend.

The Dons travel to Robert Clack School to face the Daggers on Sunday – kick-off 2pm.

In their first pre-season game of the 2017/18 season, Abbie Roberts, Ellie Richings, Dawn Mallett, Holly Holt, Shannon Hellina, Mollie Burgess and Katie Roberts are all in contention to make their bows.

Honeyman said: “Overall, it is an opportunity for the team to go and play, get the rust out of the legs and enjoy themselves.”

With a fresh look to the side, Honeyman alluded to the fact that he will take the opportunity to experiment.

He stated, “We are looking to try a few different combinations of players to see what it looks like.”

The Dons are aiming for the 2017/18 season to be as successful for them as the 2016/2017 campaign was when they finished runners up in the South East Division 1.
