Wootton, who can operate in the centre of the defence or in either full-back position, signed a two-year deal after leaving Sky Bet Championship outfit Leeds United in the summer.
He began his career with Tranmere Rovers but eventually ended up with Manchester United after a three-year spell with Liverpool.
Wootton made four appearances for the Red Devils, including two in the UEFA Champions League. During his time at Old Trafford, he also enjoyed loan spells at Tranmere Rovers, Peterborough United and Nottingham Forest,
In August 2014, Wootton joined Leeds United for an undisclosed fee, penning a three-year deal with the Yorkshire-men.
He went on to play 80 times for the Whites before departing this past June, and subsequently moving to Stadium MK on a deal which will run until June 2018.
Wootton scored on his league debut for the Club but unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury in a Checkatrade Trophy with Barnet in August – an injury which could keep him sidelined for the entire 2016/17 season.
