Action from the Football League Community Cup final |
Milton Keynes Dons Football in the Community Scheme recently held the Under 11 Football League Cup Final at The National Hockey Stadium (the ground) on Saturday 20th January 2007 after the MK Dons impressive 3-1 victory over Barnet FC.
Two schools from Milton Keynes, Stanton and Green Park contested the final which gave a fantastic opportunity for local school children to play on their local professional football teams main pitch. Both schools had earned the right to be in the final after finishing top of their groups in the tournament arranged before Christmas, which was played in our fantastic Indoor Dome.

After an entertaining final and a close match the game went to into extra time with Stanton coming out the winners and now progressing on to represent Milton Keynes Dons FC in the Area Finals. If successful in this round, Stanton could progress to the Regional Finals and then the National Finals which is to be played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
Both the winners and close runners up received a medal for each player to remember the day as well as having already received a Milton Keynes Dons FC gift pack and a complimentary ticket voucher for a forthcoming Milton Keynes Dons fixture at the ground.
Football in the Community would like to thank and congratulate both Stanton and Green Park for a excellent final and we wish Stanton School the best of luck in the next round of the competition.
Any schools who wish to get involved in football with FITC please contact us on 01908 209442.
