SET RECEIVES ABBEY GRANT

MK Dons Sport and Education Trust recently received a grant of nearly £19,000 from the Abbey Charitable Trust to increase their IT capacity and help sustain their education projects aimed at key stage 3 children at risk of underachieving.

The award winning 'Learning@ the Cowshed' education centre based at stadiummk, already runs the flagship 'Playing for Success' programme in partnership with MK Council Extended Services.The grant will enable other projects and activities to flourish and help develop new and innovative ways to raise achievement and attainment in literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

John Cove, Chief Executive of the Sport and Education Trust said: "We are delighted to receive the support of the Abbey Charitable Trust. The funds will help deliver education and other projects for Milton Keynes and the surrounding area which we believe will make a real difference to people's lives. We are very grateful for their support."

Sam Solan, Client Relationship Manager at Abbey Grafton Gate East Branch said: "Abbey Charitable Trust aims to provide funding for projects that support local communities, particular in those areas where Abbey has a significant presence.

"This donation has enabled MK Dons Sport and Education Trust to enhance and develop projects which we are sure its users will benefit from."
