Football in the Community is delighted to announce the commencement of this season's national six-a-side schools competitions. Last year over 20,000 children participated nationally, with Stanton School progressing to play before the League 2 play off final at Wembley.

The format of the cups is the same as last year.

The Community Cup will be for Under 11s boys and girls and will be played on a divisional basis so that The Championship, League One and League Two will each have its own Community Cup.

Each divisional tournament will consist of:-

-24 local competitions organised by club Community Departments, delivering twenty four "local winners"

-Two regional finals - North and South - each featuring twelve teams

-A national final featuring the winners of the North and South

The three national finals will be staged before the relevant divisional Play-off Final in May at Wembley Stadium.

Football League Girls Cup

The Girls Cup will be for Under 13s and will be played on a national basis with:

-72 local competitions organised by club Community Departments, delivering seventy two "local winners"

-Eight area finals - each featuring "local winners"

-Two regional finals - North and South - each featuring four teams

-A national final featuring the winners of the North and South

Again, the national final will be staged at Wembley Stadium, before The Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final on Sunday 30 March 2008.
