MK DONS RES 1 PETERBOROUGH RES 1
MK Dons were denied a win late-on by Peterborough United in their Pontins Holiday's Combination fixture at Woughton on Thursday.
A fierce strike from Posh substitute Billy Cook with two minutes to go cancelled out a fine Jordan Hadfield effort in the first half, as both clubs fielded strong reserve sides at the Dons training ground.
Hadfield, Nathan Abbey, Carl Regan, Sam Baldock, Felix Bastians and John Miles all played a significant part of the game, under the watchful eye of Dons manager Paul Ince.
The game also provided a first appearance for winger Craig Dobson, making his Dons bow following a January move from Stevenage.
After showing glimpses of brilliance off the bench at Barnet on Saturday, Miles again looked in excellent form against Posh - curling a shot just wide on 12 minutes after a weaving run from deep, then working goalkeeper James McIven with another swerving shot 12 minutes later.

Jordan Hadfield celebrates his goal with Luke Howell. |
It was all Dons in the first period and it came as no surprise when they took the lead just before the half-hour mark.
Bursting from deep to pick up trialist David Graham's headed pass, Hadfield chested the ball just inside the box before rifling a crisp half-volley in off the right-hand post.
Miles looked like he was enjoying himself and very nearly left McIven red-faced when he instantly controlled the 'keeper's goal-kick but just failed to get enough distance on his effort from inside the centre-circle.

Felix Bastians impresses in his first Dons appearance. |
With the likes of Micah Hyde, Josh Low and Liam Hatch in the side, it was only a matter of time before Peterborough came to life and, when they did, the Dons had Liam Kelly to thank as they held onto the lead.
Hatch raced into the channel to reach Hyde's throughball and though Abbey did well to get something of a block on the shot, Kelly's clearance off the line prevented an equaliser.
Having looked lively down the right, Baldock came within inches of increasing the lead just before the break, curling a brilliant left-foot shot off the face of the crossbar after Graham had laid off a Miles throughball.
Hatch should have equalised shortly after the break but headed wide from a Tom Williams cross when well-placed to score.

Craig Dobson comes on after an hour and shows plenty of promise. |
Baldock should have punished him moments later when slid through by Bastians but shot straight at McIven with the goal in sight.
Dobson's introduction with half-an-hour to play brought a burst of energy to the game as he replaced the impressive Miles.
The former Crystal Palace man showed some smart touches around the final third as he continues to search for match fitness.
The Dons looked likely to close out the win, but were caught out on 88 minutes - Cook finding shooting space 22 yards out to send a firmly-struck shot beyond Abbey and into the bottom left corner.
MK Dons: Abbey, Howell (Kelly 34), Thorne, Regan, Collins, Baldock, Hadfield (King 70), Barnett, Bastians, Miles (Dobson 62), Graham.
