Scott Taylor returned to playing action with the Dons Reserves at Peterborough United last night, but couldn't prevent a youthful team suffering a last-minute defeat.

The Dons side, taken by Academy Director Mike Dove and his assistant Paul Heald, twice came from behind in an entertaining game but goals from Stephane Koffi and Sam Collins were not enough to earn them their first points in the Pontins Holidays Combination.

Posh started the game with a particularly strong line up including experience midfield man Dean Keates and striker Craig Mackail-Smith on his way back from injury.

After falling behind to an early strike from Rene Howe, the visitors levelled two minutes later when Koffi fired into the corner from Liam Kelly's long throw.

An eventful opening 10 minutes continued when midfielder Charlie Shuter had to be replaced with a foot injury.

But Mackail-Smith regained the lead for his side, beating Abbey from Keates' clever pass to send Posh in leading at the break.

Having closed out the half with a long-range strike from Muss Carayol, the Dons continued to fight back and drew level again through Collins four minutes after the break.

Had Bally Smart's superb effort from range had the beating Shwan Jalal the Dons might have taken over but when Dan Powell wasted a chance after some hesitation in the home defence it seemed inevitable it would come back to haunt them.

And so it did in the final throws of the game when Keates picked up a third assist of the game, swinging in a dangerous free-kick from the left for Alfie Potter to head past Abbey.
