A vastly experienced left-back with over 300 league appearances to his name, Sol joined the Dons on a short-term deal in August 2009.
Born in Cheltenham in 1979, Sol began his career with Swindon Town, where he was a YTS alongside Dons assistant manager Karl Robinson. After signing his first professional contract in 1997, he played 128 games for the Robins over five years before Joe Kinnear paid £60,000 to take him to Luton in 2002.
During his time with the Hatters, Davis became something of a cult hero with the Kenilworth Road faithful and was named Player of the Year following Luton's promotion from League 1 in 2005. Sol's place in the hearts of the Hatters fans was strengthened when he bounced back heroically from a life-threatening stroke suffered in October 2006 and returned to the Luton team a little more than two months later.
